ULI JON ROTH: Touring Keyboardist And Rhythm Guitarist Announced
August 14, 2004According to a posting on his official web site, legendary guitarist Uli Jon Roth (ex-SCORPIONS) will be joined by keyboardist Oliver Palotai and rhythm guitarist John Boswell on his upcoming North American tour with MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP (MSG). Rehearsals will take place in Los Angeles just prior to the tour, which is scheduled to kick off on August 26 at the House of Blues in West Hollywood, CA.
The U.S. tour will comprise of approximately 15-20 shows, and some of the concerts are also going to feature George Lynch (ex-DOKKEN). Both Uli and Michael are going to play a full-length set each and then share the stage together for the finale. The two axemen have not played together since their amazing joint appearance at the first Legends Of Rock concert at Castle Donington in 2001. Uli's set will include material from all periods of his career, including ELECTRIC SUN, SCORPIONS as well as pieces from his latest album, "Metamorphosis". Roth will be playing his legendary seven-string Sky Guitar, an instrument he designed himself, which enables him to play a full six-octave range. He will also perform in front of a cinemascope screen with just two other musicians on stage. The screen will show spectacular footage directed by the man himself, which often features the members of his own classical Sky Orchestra as well as other musicians with whom Roth interacts live.
